Anyone should be able to ride a bike to any destination today. A low-stress bike map uses trails, protected bike lanes, quiet neighborhood streets, and occasional sidewalks.
More Traffic routes use all of the existing conventional bike infrastructure, including trails, painted bike lanes, and routes where bikes share a lane with cars on busier streets.
The goal of the Low-Stress Denver Bike Map is to identify the “Best Available Network,” the network of existing trails, protected bike lanes, quiet streets, sidewalks, and alleys, that make it possible for people of all ages and abilities to ride to any destination today – even if a complete formal bike network doesn’t exist. Occasionally, there are sidewalks where we encourage you to get off your bike, be a pedestrian, and push your bike. Walking is great and it helps us make challenging network connections.
